Tunebite: Remove DRM copy protection from music

Do you shop MUSIC or AUDIO BOOKS at NOKIA store, iTunes store, Yahoo! Music subscription or others? If yes this is another must have tool from audials.com. I also reviewed their product Audials Mobile (which let u download music easily via mobile) a while ago.

The songs that you can buy for instance in Nokia store or other music stores are often DRM protected. So you can´t use them on other devices.

Tunebite frees music and audio books from DRM copy protection and converts unprotected audio files. Tunebite Platinum universal converter removes DRM copy protection from music, audio books and videos, converts unprotected audio and video files into 100 file formats that can be played on any device and comes with many extras.

I had the chance to test Tunebite platinum and here is my experience with the product:

Interface:

Tunebite's graphical user-interface (GUI) has a cleaner appearance which makes using Tunebite intuitive and easier to use.

Media file Conversion:

Tunebite makes it easy to convert media files by providing a drag-and-drop area, or via clicking the Add button near the top of the screen. During testing Tunebite I was able to convert a mixture of music and video files (copy protected and DRM-free) without any problems and produced good results.
• Output Audio Formats: M4A, MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA, WMA Pro
• Output Video Formats: 3GP, AVI, MPEG4, SONY PSP, WMV7, WMV9, XVID

Perfect Audio:

Perfect Audio mode which guarantees a perfect reproduction of the original copy-protected file. The downside to using this new feature is it takes significantly more time to convert files. If you've got a lot of DRM-protected files then be prepared for a long wait!

Conversion Modes:

The default mode is aimed at the beginner who needs a simplified interface to quickly convert their files. For the more advanced user, a change in mode will reveal more options for bitrates and custom configurations.

Conversion Speed and Quality:

Speed is ok, but the quality of the converted files is excellent.

System Requirements:

• Operating system: Windows XP / Vista
• Minimum Processor: 1 GHz
• Memory: 512 MB RAM
• Software: Windows Media Player 9+ / iTunes 6+
• Video: Minimum resolution 1024 x 768 pixels

Pros:

• Good user-interface
• Good file format support and conversion speed
• Excellent set of media tools
You can record both audio and video streams from popular streaming websites like, Last.fm, Pandora, iJigg, SoundClick, LaunchCast, MusicLoad, YouTube, MySpace, and others.
• Parental Control features

Cons:

• Perfect Audio mode is slow
• Interface looks good, but there are so many buttons that aren’t well labeled. It makes it look complicated when it really isn’t.
• TuneBite doesn’t convert music files, it records them. That’s not necessarily a problem, except that it takes much longer than conversion. Depending on the file type, especially if it is protected music, TuneBite has to record the song in real-time. That means that it could take hours upon hours to convert your entire library.

On the bright side, the latest version of TuneBite can convert files at up to 54x speed.
The video tutorials on the TuneBite site help you run through all the features and menus you need to use. It's a good way to familiarize yourself with the display because it is so confusing at first.

But these minor problems don't overshadow how good Tunebite is to use. It's a solid performer that's got a great selection of additional tools that go beyond simple DRM file conversion. Tunebite is certainly recommended if you're frustrated by the restrictions of DRM or need a media toolbox that can convert, record, and backup your music and video files.

Takes some time, as most tracks convert only at 1x speed, but well worth it.

it is a little bit of a hassle with Nokia Music, because of Nokia's glitches, sometimes it doesn't recognize de DRM Rights.
